My attempt to upgrade the CPU in my Gateway ML3108b from a Sempron to a Turion X2 TL50 did not go as I expected. The CPU is correctly identified by the bios, but somehow the computer fails to load Windows and instead it displays the following message: "FATAL ERROR !!! Please change CPU!!!".
I also tried a Turion MK36. With the MK36 my laptop works fine if I don't put any ram in one of the two slots (to be precise slot 1).
Any thought?
