Hello. I've got a brand new Gigabyte GA-7DX+ with a basic setup: AMD Duron 1GHz, 128Mb RAM and an Intel Triton VGA card. When I press the case's power button, the case and CPU fans start but there's no beep or any sound and nothing displays on the monitor. Any help will be appreciated. TIA.

Sincerely,
Rick

Check jumpers, memory and CPU.

Thanks for the help. I left the motherboard w/o ram sticks and no video card. Just the cpu cooling combo... Turn system on... No beeps or any other sounds. Fans work ok and DIMM LED is on, but no beeps. What does that mean?

Thanks in advance
Rick

When you say "fans work ok", which fans are you talking about ?

Do you have an alternative PSU you can check it out with ?

Silly thoughts
- cooler fan definitely plugged into the correct socket ?
- does this mobo need a temperature sensor plugged in ?

Looks like bad CPU or board.
