Hi Surprised
I'm newbie here and i have a BIG prob with the subject Wink

As you can see, on this topic, i 'm not the only one to have this Prob:

See here:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6515

For my part, i think it's a video bios problem,no Question

i have a "separated file" version of the PSP10E V1.90 version:

For more knowledge, this is the use of each file :

ACPI0.rom & ACPI1.rom : This 2 files is for ACPI

bb.rom : Eeprom Boot Block

BIOSCOD0.rom : bios code (probably the core)
BIOSCOD1.rom : bios code (probably the core)
BIOSCOD2.rom : bios code (probably the core)
BIOSCOD3.rom : bios code (probably the core)

DECOMPC0.rom : LZ decompression algorithm

DISPLAY0.rom : Screen interface of bios

LOGO0.rom : "in touch with tomorrow" : "wide" boot screen
LOGO1.rom : "dynabook" : "wide" Japanese boot screen
LOGO2.rom : Blank ?!
LOGO3.rom : "intel inside Pentium4 logo"
LOGO4.rom : "intel inside Pentium4 logo" ("narrow" version)
LOGO5.rom : "intel inside Pentium4 HT logo"
LOGO6.rom : "intel inside Pentium4 HT logo" ("narrow" version)
LOGO7.rom : "in touch with tomorrow" : "narrow" boot screen
LOGO8.rom : "dynabook" : "narrow" Japanese boot screen

MISER0.rom : Power management

OPROM0.rom : NV34 E133 VGA BIOS : 4.34.20.33.A3
OPROM1.rom : NV31 E133-2 VGA BIOS : 4.31.20.56.A6 (Go5600) Cool
OPROM2.rom : NV34 E133 VGA BIOS : 4.34.20.33.10
OPROM3.rom : NV34 E133 VGA BIOS : 4.34.20.33.A4

OPROM4.rom : Realtek PXE boot (Last post have an error)

rom.scr : Phoenix BIOS script file to build the new/modified bios

ROMEXEC0.rom
ROMEXEC1.rom : Executable Core Bios

SETUP0.rom : Setup Engine

STRINGS0.rom : the items and the message of the bios

TEMPLAT0.rom : the screen interface (main,advanced,security,boot,exit)

UPDATE0.rom : CPU update (use to recognize automatically CPU ?)

USER0.rom : Dunno Rolling Eyes

User-De0.rom : Dunno Rolling Eyes

The problem is the phoenix bios editor can't open correctly the RomFile.
you can do it But after Catenate , all seems ok but flashing with this file and you obtain a "Dead" PC.

Can someone help me to build a correct file plz ? Very Happy

Thanx in advance!

PS: Sorry for my Bad English ! Wink

Hi Surprised

Yes it' the correct link.

Precision:

When you try to open it into phoenix bios editor pro, you have some
error in Logo0,1,7,8

and the big one:

"An unsupported module class 'Q' was found at offset DDDC3,
do you want to continue ?"
(i think it's the ROMEXEC0.ROM, but not sure)

THANKS A LOT FOU YOUR INTEREST in my request !!!! Very Happy

Don't worry about the unsupported module. You're not going to modify that anyway.

The fact that some logo modules are not understood is a problem for a build with the editor.

Although you cannot use build or catenate, it may still be possible to replace an option rom manually.

But I'm unsure of what you are trying to do. Browsing through the thread you have linked, I'm under the impression that you would like to replace the Video BIOS with one from an entirely different machine. Unfortunately, notebook Video BIOSes are typically not universal even for identical graphics cards.

Please post a link to the System BIOS that contains the Video BIOS you would like to use to replace your current one.

Hi Smile

Yes, Like said Inconel, i want to change The videobios by another one.

But Apparently, it's not possible to use the VideoBios from an another
Computer Crying or Very sad

I want to know the difference.
(Inconel, if you have some information Surprised )

The VideoBios come from a Gericom Hummer 5600 Bios :

http://download.gericom.com/NOTEBOOK/Hummer-755IN0/BIOS/

Best Regards,Ray

PS : Shame on me! Embarassed I put the wrong link!!!

I would check ACPI before trying to understand changes in the Video BIOS.

Compare this area to those computers that do not have problems with latest video drivers.

Code:
      Device(AGP) {
        Name(_ADR,0x00010000)
        Method(_PRT,0,NotSerialized) {
          If(LNot(\PICF)) {
            Return(Package(0x02){
              Package(0x04){
                  0xFFFF,
                  0x00,
                  \_SB.PCI0.LPC0.LNKA,
                  0x00
                },
              Package(0x04){
                  0xFFFF,
                  0x01,
                  \_SB.PCI0.LPC0.LNKB,
                  0x00
                }
            })
          } Else {
            Return(Package(0x02){
              Package(0x04){
                  0xFFFF,
                  0x00,
                  0x00,
                  0x10
                },
              Package(0x04){
                  0xFFFF,
                  0x01,
                  0x00,
                  0x11
                }
            })
          }
        }

ACPI code can be extracted from BIOS, but I am unfamiliar with AMI BIOS used in Hummer-755IN0. You could ask owners of this computer or other computers using go5600 with no driver problems to use ACPIScope or any other method to find this information.

Hi Surprised

I suppose the code come from the Toshiba V1.90 Bios ?
I look on my Toshiba With the motherboard who have the Go5100 on it,
(i Precise this one have No Prob with all drivers version):

I Can extract this One :

Device(AGP)
{
Name(_ADR, 0x00010000)
Method(_PRT, 0x00, NotSerialized)
{
If (LNot(\PICF))
{
Return(Package(0x02)
{
Package(0x04){0xFFFF, 0x00, \_SB.PCI0.LPC0.LNKA, 0x00},
Package(0x04){0xFFFF, 0x01, \_SB.PCI0.LPC0.LNKB, 0x00}
})
}
Else
{
Return(Package(0x02)
{
Package(0x04){0xFFFF, 0x00, 0x00, 0x10},
Package(0x04){0xFFFF, 0x01, 0x00, 0x11}
})
}
}

As you can see,there's only one difference,but i suppose it can be possible because this Mobo use the Go5100, (who use the same bios V1.90 than the Toshiba who is equipped with Go5600).

The difference:

Mine : Method(_PRT, 0x00, NotSerialized)
Inconel : Method(_PRT,0,NotSerialized)

I don't know if this little precision can help you, i must wait to rebuild the Gericom of my friend to test ACPIscope on the Hummer 5600.

If someone can do this Wink

Thanks all people who help Toshiba P10 Go5600 users in this Forum!
Best regards,Ray Razz

That was Toshiba V1.90 BIOS, using ACPI Editor in Phoenix BIOS Editor. 0x00 and 0 are both zero, so there are no differences, just displayed differently by different programs.

Post again when you have ACPI info from Gericom Hummer with go5600.
