Post subject: Backup the PhoenixBios without a new Bios Rom File? |
|
|
Hi!
I need a Backup of my Phoenix-Award v6.0 Bios as a .rom or .wph file.
I tried the PHLASH16.EXE but i must specify a new Bios file although i only want to backup...
The OEM dont offer any Bios files (Geode embedded PC).
Any ideas ??
thanks

| I would like to know too. I use Linux only and boot freedos off a usb pen. it always tell me the bios.wdh is not found then force me to reboot. award/ami flasher didn't do that in the past.

ICH8 uses a "spi flash device" there is a SPI header (8-pin) on my MB with a jumper on the end.
Its 1MB and can be extracted with Winflash (is this the same as winplash)?

I don't know if it is the same. There seem to be a few different incarnations of winflash. Can you link to which one you're referring to?
