My Bios will not recognise my dvd drive.

Here are the details:-

BIOS Type: Phoenix-Award
BIOS Date: October 4th 2002

BIOS OEM: U8068R01 - 6.00 PG
Chipset: VIA 82C3148 rev 0

Manufacturer: VIA Technologies, Inc.

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.0
Maximum Memory: 1024MB
Installed Memory: 512MB

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a Bios upgrade

is the board most likely, dvd is set for master and connected to the slave connector on the cable or IDE slave port is disabled in bios or maybe a cabling problem. Board should not have troubles recognizing DVD drives, it's recent enough...
