I have a PC which has P4S800MX motherboard and on board video card (sis661fx). I have installed latest version of video driver but I could not update motherboard bios. I have read about cbrom and try it but could not make it work.

When I go to utility manager of the video card it says CRT instead of LCD, could it be the case?

If I really need to update VBIOS what is the simplest way to do that?

If you can help me that would be perfect....

Regards
Gurhan

I have tried to use what you have said in the post "HOWTO replace integrated chipsets' video bios" and I got above. I am not sure that do I have to put vbios file name or mainboard bios filename.

I will try to patch it in the mainboard's bios with cbrom, make a backup copy of your bios and send it to your email address.

I also tried with the cbrom606 it said it is not 600 award bios

Thanks

Thank you so much for your help. Now my Philips 190CW monitor with the asus P4S800MX mainboard and sis661fx on board video card is working very well. 1440x900 resolution is not my problem anymore Smile

I updated my bios with the patched one (by you) using AsusUpdate program from windows.

Thanks a lot...

Gurhan

Hi, I've been looking all over the place for a fix like this. I have the same motherboard (asus p4s800-mx) and chipset (sis661fx) and need to get 1440x900 working. Could you please send me or link me to the bios you patched here?

Many thanks in advance.
