Hi there, I'm the owner of a Clevo 2820 notebook and I need the BIOS
update because I've changed the CPU and HD but there not working
in the maximum way. can anybody tell me where to get this. I've looked
all over the internet but nowhere to find. At Clevo's factory site the BIOS updates are (strangely) removed for some time now....

Hi, I have checked the updates on this site and everything is there!!! Fantastic!!! Thanks a lot!!! Only now I need to find out the right version to use, but that will work out fine. Your a genius, thanks.. !!!!!
Hello, here the results of the Dutch jury....No serious, I have done the following:
1. Updated the BIOS with the 5.01 version, then reboot and see what happend. The CPU was working on its proper frequency (800Mhz), first there was a 500 Mhz CPU inside.
2. I inserted the 30 Gb HD (first it was a Toshiba 6.4 Gb) and the HD was
also detected at its full size.
3. I rebooted again, and used the "Processor Update Util." from Intel Corp. to update the microcode and CPU bug corrective info in the BIOS,
afterwards rebooted again to see if all data was still intact.
4. Then checked with working OS (XP) to see if there were no further hidden problems, but all was working quicker and stable!
But I have seen that the battery live is about 25% shorter, well what the hack.....
Thanks for your help in finding the BIOS update!

Hi,
To explane my choice, I read that the 2820-700 version (the one own) is equipt with a mainboard that has a specific problem, that has been engineered (read: put right) in the later editions. It states that the design for the uPGA2 power topology has been changed because of heating problems in the first versions. To prevent importing a problem by updating a BIOS that was ment for the "younger" designs I've choosen the old BIOS. The main problems are solved now, so I guess thats what its about...or not? Or do you think that there's no problem in using the 5.18c version
