bios utility for IDE card

Hi All,
I am newbie for bios programming ...
I want to load my own utility for a dual channel IDE card, when my system is booted.
This card already has a configuration utility in ROM, which can be invoked at the time of loading of System bios.I want to replace this configuration utility from the ROM of the card with mine.
Can anybody tell me what are the steps for the same..

If your card is firmware upgradeable, there is probably a flash program for it available at the manufacturer's website.

I also think Uniflash supports PCI cards, but I've never used it that way.
