Hello,

I am unable to update my Alienware M17xR3 Bios.

Windows 7 Professional SP1, 64 Bit. (I did a fresh install of Windows 7 because I could not update the BIOS in Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit).

I get the following Error when trying to update Bios from A04 to A05.
  • phoenix winphlash64 version 1.0.56.0
    Error Code Error Message
    -100 BCPSYS block signature was not found.
The A05 Bios Flash does not work via bootable USB drive either; it needs to be performed within Windows.
I did "identify" the error via the following guide, however the "fix" or workaround is not provided.

Note, the Battery is an original, recognized in the task bar notification and BIOS, but refuses to charge. I have replaced with a new battery as well.
I am hoping that eventually updating the BIOS to a higher level (A10 or A12) will help me fix the battery charging issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
