Win 98SE Device Manager tab, system devices, Plug/Play Bios is reporting..."Windows could not load the driver for the device because the computer is reporting two BIOS.VXD bus types (Code 2)"
Computer is running fine but...is there a fix
TIA
Windows reporting two BIOS.VXD bus types
I think that BIOS update is needed to fix this.

You have this BIOS "01/22/2002-i440BX-8671-GA6BXC00C-00"?
Then try to remove the device that causes this problem and let windows redetect it.
I installed two these boards - they're running fine with Windows ME (I think that they have some older BIOS instaled).

...I did try this once under Windows 98 (first ed.) and I remember it worked. If all else fails and you're considering the drastic step of reinstalling Windows from scratch, there's one final, radical option. You can force Windows to redetect all hardware in your system, and the redetection process could resolve the problem. Open Device Manager, expand the System Devices tree, remove every listed device, then restart. It may take several reboots for Windows to redetect every piece of hardware, but the process sometimes works. Remember, though, this strategy is strictly for situations in which all other efforts have failed!
I was aware of this "procedure" and was forced to do the deed yesterday...removed everything and let Windows figure it out all over again.
Following several reboots and a new error (video card) to solve, my system is back to "normal".
Thanks all
