here is the info from the manual...please read this about the CPU's accepted and about the core voltage as well as the Bus speeds....
it sounds like it will accept virtually any Socket370 CPU...Please explain what the deal is here....because I just don't understand.
Thank You
Intel 810 chipset includes a CPU interface controller, integrated memory
controller, integrated power management unit, concurrent PCI (PCI v.2.0,
2.1, 2.2), 3D video, IDE and ISA bus controller.
n Flexible Processor Support
Onboard Socket 370 supports leading-edge processors:
Celeron™ PPGA processors 333/366/400/433/466/500 MHz and up.
Various External Bus and CPU/Bus Frequency Ratio Support
The board supports the Bus frequency of 66 / 75 / 83 / 90 / 95 / 100 / 112
/ 124 / 133MHz and the CPU/Bus frequency ratio of 2x / 2.5x / 3x / 3.5x / 4x
/ 4.5x / 5x / 5.5x / 6x / 6.5x / 7x / 7.5x / 8x by a switching voltage regulator
which accepts 1.8V to 2.8V.
n Versatile Main Memory Support
Accepts up to 512MB (total) RAM using two DIMMs of 8, 16, 32, 64, 128,
256MB with support for lightning-fast SDRAM (66/100MHz).
Let's clear up the CPU question...for good
Please read thru my posts and try to give me as solid a reply as possible...if its possible to explain the CPU limitations on the FIC-CW33 (especially in light of what the manual states - w/ various bus speeds accepted and adjustable core voltage)...what gives?????...what other limitations keep from adding an 800Mhz or faster processor to this system???
Thanks....
My main thing is to upgrade the systems speed and cache...so please just tell me what the options are.
thanks again

The difference is in the CPU pinout - celerons upto 533MHz are PPGA, while 533A and over are FC-PGA. Some PPGA boards can be modified to support FC-PGA CPUs (because some pin meanings were changed on purpose by Intel).
