Hi all,
That's my first post here.
Hope it's the right section !
Voilà, I own a Dell L400 with 256 MB PC100, and it's supposed to be the max amount of memory that can fit in this cute little machine.
Is it possible to modifiy the BIOS in order to use 512 MB ?
This notebook has the ultimate BIOS loaded, and would be absolutely great with 512 MB.
Thx.
W.
I'd like to stick 512 MB in my Dell Latitude L400

Thank you very much.
If you have ideas, or if you know my notebook, please tell me what you think.
Have a good day.

There is not a single report in the field of anybody ever doing this. Not with a bios modification either. So in this case it is indeed hopeless. By now if this was humanly possible it would have been done.

I had totally forgot to answer !
If a BIOS modification isn't possible, then why not use double-height double-face memory module ?
Does that kind of memory module (512 MB) exists ?

Hi !
The Dell L400 has a Intel 82440BX/ZX chipset.
So, in theory, no problem to accept 512 MB.
Thx.
