The link leads to: The requested URL /soupy/Asus P_I-xP55T2P4x.zip was not found on this server. When I started the backup process, the protection jumper was disabled, obviously the update process finished correctly. After a restart it was not possible to go into BIOS to load setup defaults, there ...

Interesting georgep... What in the motherboard design could cause this? I would think that the video card, being a seperate entity, would not be bound by the rules or the motherboard design (ie: chipset memory limitations, etc...)... KachiWachi, Sorry I didn't see this when you posted it. This was ...

I dont know what you mean. I posted the motherboard details which usually identify a motherboard but I cant see any way of identifying it here. I was just asking if someone could identify it for me, please. If you type in www.wimsbios.com and look at the top of the screen, there should be a small g...

I believe it's an OEM only board for Gateway. I also believe what Ritchie said is true. It will probably be able to see 128 GB with the BIOS you have, but if not, the latest BIOS from Gateway will certainly allow it to recognize the 120 GB drive. Somewhere on your system, there should be a serial nu...

Re: como3
The latest BIOS, 1.12, can be found at this link http://www.e4allinc.info/dir1/support/usa_motherboards.htm but I don't believe your motherboard supports 100 MHz front side bus, which would be needed for it to utilize a Pentium II/III 450 at full speed. The 450 should be running at 4.5x100, but is r...

According to this page at ASUS, it supports > 128 GB
http://www.asus.com/support/english/tec ... index.aspx
even with the BIOS you have. But I'd still upgrade the BIOS to the latest.

Well, at the MaxData site, there is the filename you request, as well as a more recent one. http://ftp.maxdata.de/t_index.asp?info=/info/MAXDATA_Computers/Mainboards/FIC_Mainboards/FIC_AM39L/BIOS-Update But there is no guarantee that the BIOS is completely compatible with your board (possibly render...

Re: jumpers
I did not know about this jumper. Do you know where this is likely to be on the motherboard.? Since I bougth the PC a long while ago, I no longer have the manual. Thanks for your help. The jumper NickS is talking about would be on the back of the hard drive. Description of jumper settings would be ...

Re: P5A and 60 GB
Go to
http://www.asus.com/support/download/it ... ype=Latest
and click on the "Beta" radio button at the top of the page. That should give you a beta BIOS that will recognize your HD.

Re: K6-2
The K6-2/3's recognize the 2X multiplier as 6X. So, even though the 450 was designed with 100 MHz fsb motherboards in mind, it works fine on motherboards with 66 MHz default fsb. 6x66 = 400 6x75 = 450 6x83 = 500 The processor doesn't care what multiplier or fsb is set, as long as the combination of ...
