A google search gave that it's a EPoX EP-LXA-M, but closer investigation came up with a few other boards that also match this ID string. Any help?

1. Is there a BIOS OEM message under the Award logo on the memory count screen ?
2. Anything printed on the board ?

Have to check with the board owner. I'm helping him out with identifying it as he's looking for a BIOS upgrade. :)

Hey,
Unfortunately the photo above has nothing in common with my mobo.
(My proc & RAM slots are horizontal, etc.)

My BIOS OEM sign is:
12/17/1998 For i440LX/EX AGPset

Thx.

Hi K4

Are you saying that your board has nothing to do with the original post, but that you need help to ID?
If so, I would suggest starting a "new topic" so that responses don't get mixed up, since these are different motherboards.
Also, tell us how many PCI, ISA slots, dimms, what type of processor slot/socket etc. your board has, and is that the complete signon string?
:)

The CPU and RAM slots are horizontal? Hmm... the only Slot1 boad I've seen with a horizontal CPU slot is the ATC-6150 Baby AT board :?

Yep, That'd be an EPoX after all.
One thing that bothers me is that according to the manual it uses another Intel chipset model...

According to Wim's BIOS BIOS Numbers section, your ID string matches the following models:

2A69JPAAC (The ID string you posted).
Epox EP-61EXA-A
or EP-61LXA
or EP-61LXA-M
or EP-LXR
or KP6-LA

If this ID string is correct for your board, one of those models should be your board.

All the ones I could find manuals for displayed CPU and RAM slots running at right angles to the PCI, AGP and ISA slots.

I could not get up an english version of the 2TheMax website.

Maybe you could photograph your board and post the photo.

Case closed, the board reads EP-68LXR.
So why doesn't the BIOS ID fit?

Where did you get EP-68LXR from?

Is this printed on the mainboard?

Or is it displayed on the BIOS screen?

It does fit. EP-LXR is most probably the same board as EP-68LXR.
